FAQ

1. Will there be any costs associated with participating in this project?
There is no cost to participate in the training as a selected participant. However, travel and accommodation expenses are not covered for most participants, as trainings are typically conducted within their own cities.

2. How long will this project take from start to finish?
The training program will last for 3 days. Afterwards, participants may continue to receive support for up to 6 months, including advisory services, GHG inventory preparation, and connections to technologies or green finance—depending on their interest and engagement.

3. Does this project require any contracts or obligations?
No contract is required. Participants are considered beneficiaries of the project. They are expected to attend the full 3-day training and provide feedback for project monitoring and evaluation.

4. If a factory reduces energy use (CO₂), who owns the environmental benefits (e.g., carbon credits)?
The project does not issue or certify carbon credits. Instead, it supports companies in calculating their GHG emissions using our digital platform.

5. What are the details of the training schedule, location, language, and duration?
Participants are advised to refer to the official training announcements on our MekongSustain.org website for the latest updates. The specific training locations will be provided in each announcement. The duration of the training is three (3) days. Sessions will generally be conducted in English, with the exception of trainings organized in Thailand, which will be conducted in Thai.

6. Will the project provide a budget to support energy efficiency improvements?
No direct budget is provided for implementation. However, the program offers matching services to connect companies with financial institutions and technology providers, enabling access to green finance products and clean technologies.

7. What should factory personnel prepare to support the project?
Each participating factory is required to designate two representatives: one from the Environmental/Sustainability Department and one from Management Level.

8. How many days and man-days will consultants spend at the factory during the project?
The training will be conducted at a designated location rather than through on-site factory visits. Post-training advisory support will be available on-demand for up to six months and will be provided via online meetings.

9. If a factory participates, can they withdraw before completing all stages of the project?
It is note advised to withdraw once enrolled. The application process includes thorough screening and multiple confirmation steps to ensure participant commitment. We kindly encourage participants to complete the three-day training and to implement at least one solution afterward to help accelerate decarbonization.

10. How will factory data be used?
Participating companies may submit their data to generate a GHG inventory report using the project’s digital platform. The data will be used exclusively for monitoring the company’s progress in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The information will be treated with strict confidentiality and will not be disclosed to any third parties.

11. Will the Program provide a budget to support improvements in energy use?
No direct budget will be provided for implementation. However, the program will offer matching services to connect companies with financial institutions and technology providers, enabling access to green finance products and sustainable technologies.
